The result is so close, you can’t tell just by looking which is the false tooth and which is the real one.

Treatment Planning

How This Type of Implant Case Is Evaluated

The implant site is evaluated for trauma-related bone or soft-tissue changes, restorative spacing, bite and the relationship to adjacent front teeth.

01
Diagnose the Current Condition

Evaluate the teeth, gums, bite and treatment area before deciding whether implant treatment is appropriate.

02
Evaluate Bone & Restorative Space

Assess supporting anatomy and the space required for the planned implant-supported restoration.

03
Plan Surgery Around the Final Teeth

Implant position should support the intended restoration, bite and long-term hygiene access.

04
Plan Long-Term Maintenance

Implant care includes professional follow-up, home care and maintenance of the final restoration.

Surgical + Restorative Coordination

How Implant Placement and the Final Restoration Work Together

The case demonstrates replacement of a traumatically lost front tooth with a single dental implant and an aesthetic restoration.

Dr. Robert Thein personally manages implant planning, surgical placement and final implant restoration at Boston Dental Care. This allows the surgical and restorative phases to be coordinated within one treatment plan.

Front Tooth Dental Implant After Dental Trauma FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a tooth lost in a sports injury be replaced with an implant?

Yes, in suitable cases. Bone, gums, neighboring teeth and bite must first be evaluated.

Can an implant be placed immediately after traumatic tooth loss?

Sometimes, but immediate placement depends on the socket, bone, soft tissue, infection status and implant stability.

What if bone was damaged in the injury?

Bone grafting or staged treatment may be considered if trauma caused inadequate support.

How is the front-tooth crown matched?

Shade, shape, proportion, gum contours and the surrounding smile are considered.

Can adjacent teeth remain untouched?

A single implant can replace one missing tooth without preparing neighboring teeth when suitable.

Are sports mouthguards recommended after treatment?

A protective mouthguard may be advisable for patients in contact or impact sports.

Why This Case Matters
